A vacancy currently exists on the Council of the Ontario Library Boards’ Association (OLBA) for the Eastern Region.
I strongly encourage public library board members who are interested, to consider applying to complete this council term which ends December 31, 2012.
Serving on OLBA’s Council as a regional representative, provides an opportunity for a board member to present issues relevant to their region and to play an integral part in the development of learning tools that build excellence in library governance and leadership. It is an important and exciting role that requires attendance at four meetings a year in Toronto with correspondence between meetings conducted electronically. Transportation, meals, accommodation and other reasonable costs are reimbursed.
If someone on your library board is interested in exploring the opportunity to be a part of the OLBA Council, please send a letter of interest by March 31, 2012 to:
Ontario Library Association
50 Wellington ST. East, Suite 201
Alternately, you may email it to Beckie at firstname.lastname@example.org
Your letter should include:
• Your name and the Library Board on which you currently serve
• Relevant experience on library boards or other boards
• Your skills, including computer skills and internet literacy, use of social media, web page development etc.
• Your views about the direction and future for OLBA
The selection of the new councillor to complete this term ending Dec. 31, 2012, will be completed, with the new board member’s first meeting being on June 9th 9:00 to 4:00 in Toronto, with subsequent meetings on September 29th and November 24th.
If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at 705 949-6040 or by email at email@example.com.
