To add a file from your computer to your posting, here are the steps: 1. Below the message box that you write your message, click 'choose file' 2. This will open a window for you to search the file on your computer to select/choose 3. You will see the file listed beside the 'choose file' button 4. you must then click the 'attach this file' button below the 'choose file' button to attach 5. When successful, you will see a little green check mark circle and the attachment name listed above the 'choose file' button *note* Most types of regularly used document types should be attachable. (.doc/.docx/.pdf/.ppt/.xls/.jpg/etc) If there is a document type you are trying to attach and it is not accepting it, let me know and I will look into its acceptance.

Start a new Forum discussion (I will use the “Community Centre” area and create a new Forum discussion under the “Community Guide” as an example but the procedure can be used for any area and forum in the OLA Community) 1. You must be signed in to start a new topic. 2. Ensure you are on the FORUM page – The Forums Tab should be highlighted (below the OLA Logo on the top left) 3. Click on the FORUM you wish to add a new topic (eg. Community Guide) 4. Once you are on the Community Guide page, just above the forum on the right hand side you will see two buttons: “Watch Forum” and “Start New Topic” 5. Click “Start New Topic” 6. This will bring you to a new page called “ Posting a new Topic in Community Guide” 7. Fill in your Topic Title, Description (optional) 8. Use the text box below the title to create your message with a similar look and feel as if you were using WORD. 9. Below the text box there is an option to “add an attachment” 10. At the bottom in the middle, you can preview post before posting 11. Once ready to post, click “Post new Topic” at the bottom of the page.

To register for your OLA Community: Click the "Create Account" green button in the top right corner and fill in the form You will receive an email to validate your account. You need to click link in the email to verify Once you validate your account, access will be granted to the community by an OLA membership Staff Once validated by staff, click the 'sign in' top right to log in each time you visit the OLA Community with the log in username name (not your email) and password you created.
